SBG 18: I Love Lucy

Leigh (@lshfoster) and Ellie (@elliebrigida) talk about why I Love Lucy should have been gay. Lucy and Ethel are the 1950s gal pals of our dreams. From working together at the candy factory, opening up their own business together, fighting over their own ship name (should it be Ethelu or Lucel?), snuggling on the roof together, wallpapering Lucy's living room in overalls and bandanas and trying to make a lesbian long distance relationship work, Lucy and Ethel originated some of our favorite lesbian tropes. Above all else, Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance are true feminist icons so why not be lesbian icons too? Follow along on Twitter @lezhangoutpod and Facebook and Instagram (@lezhangoutpod).
